Founded in 1991, ECU is a highly regarded public university that has received a five-star rating in the Good Universities Guide “Teaching Quality” category for the past 11 consecutive years, despite being a relatively new university.About 30,000 students, including about 6,000 international students, study at three large campuses. Interactions between students from over 100 countries promote cross-cultural understanding.It is one of the host universities for students who participate in our TAP program.
Established the aim of cultivating young people (students) in the Asia-Oceania region to become global leaders, the alliance comprises five universities: De La Salle University (Philippines), Edith Cowan University (Australia), Thammasat University Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (Thailand), Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (Malaysia) and TCU.Since its inception in 2018, the member universities of the alliance have collaborated in a variety of ways.

- History: Thammasat University was established in 1934. It is the second oldest university in Thailand after Chulalongkorn University. - History: "MJIIT was founded by the Government of Malaysia in 2010 as part of the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). MJIIT offers undergraduate and graduate programs with a structure that incorporates features of Japanese engineering education.

(1) Setagaya Six Universities Consortium: This is a mutual cooperation agreement organized by six universities located in Setagaya (Tokyo City University, Kokushikan University, Komazawa University, Seijo University, Showa Women’s University, and Tokyo University of Agriculture).The consortium was established to conduct regional cooperation activities, and it cooperates with Setagaya Ward in various ways, including coordination in times of disaster.The Setagaya Six Universities Consortium forms a triangular relationship with Setagaya Ward and its industrial community, known as the “Setagaya Platform.”The consortium also collaborates with the Setagaya Ward Board of Education to operate Setagaya e-College.The activities of the Setagaya Six Universities Consortium have been adopted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s “Comprehensive Support Program for Private University Reform” for multiple consecutive years starting in 2019. The Setagaya Platform includes activities such as collaborative classes (face-to-face classes) and mutual library use.Setagaya e-College offers online courses for lifelong education.Lecturers of the six universities visit make inter-university visits to give lectures. The six universities already share and jointly develop educational programs and content, and this relationship will be leveraged for this program. In addition, since the six universities cover a variety of specialized fields (including humanities and social sciences), TCU will, for example, make liberal arts content (English subtitles) available to ECU and overseas partner universities.
(2) Inter-University Agreements: We have entered into inter-university agreements with regional public and private universities for the purpose of educational and research exchange.Domestic cooperating universities include Tokai University, Kochi University of Technology, Muroran Institute of Technology, University of the Ryukyus, Tamagawa University, and Fukui University of Technology. In terms of research, we hold joint research meetings with these universities, and conduct joint research leveraging the characteristics of the natural environment with University of the Ryukyus, Kochi University of Technology, and Muroran Institute of Technology. In terms of education, we also conduct joint FD events.We will also provide these universities with the content (packages) created in this program. While there are no plans for these universities to participate in the JD program, we do plan to develop a relationship with them to collaborate on content development. In addition, we will encourage the participation of students from the universities under the inter-university agreements in student-led events held by TCU, ECU, and overseas partner universities.
